Troy

For Portfolio class we had to turn in a photograph for each section of our Portfolio (except Architecture since we are just now learning that). For the Portraiture section I decided to photograph my friend Troy. I wanted to do a fashionable nerdy type look so I got him some suspenders and "nerdy" glasses. He brought his headphones and awesome outfits and we found this cool location.

I loved how the curve of the headphones was mimicked in the design of the building. His pose came naturally and created the photograph I was hoping to capture!

Winter Quarter Is Over!

As you may have noticed, it has been awhile since I have updated my blog. So, I am back to inform you on everything that has been going on this past quarter, and I will do my best to keep you posted from now on!

It was an awesome quarter- busy, but worth it. The classes were Portfolio Development, Commercial, and Photo History. I have learned so much that I will have to break down everything into separate posts- so keep checking back!

For starters, here is an image I turned in for Portfolio Development. It was shot at a railroad in Athens.

Still Life Photography

It's back to school time and we've got a lot to do! One of our first assignments is to do a still life with a 4x5 camera. I was looking for some inspiration and found an awesome post on the Photo Argus. Check it out!

Fashion Assignment

Our final assignment in our Advanced Portraiture class is a Fantasy/Fashion portrait. I chose to do edgy fashion in a parking deck. My sister Amanda was kind enough to be my model in the freezing winter weather! This picture is one of my favorites.

GlakLove on Etsy

Starr Petronella, a classmate of mine, posted about GlakLove on Etsy. Angelyn Pass of Atlanta, GA, makes jewelry and ornaments by cutting up old film negatives to create new images. I absolutely love it all!

Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival

Today, I went to the Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival in Thomasville, GA with my mom and grandma. We walked around and viewed all the paintings and sculptures, etc. by all the different artists, and got to see some of them in action. I really enjoyed several of the artists and thought I'd tell you about them.

Edit: Transform

Jeremy Barton, a classmate and friend of mine, posted a video by Zack Arias, a former graduate of Gwinnett Technical College's photo program. The video was created for Scott Kelby's blog. It is a great video that really helps me when I am feeling like giving up. You should definitely watch it!
